This trip is intended for student volunteers. As much as Ghana is a great place to visit, there is still need. The majority of Ghana's population lives in rural regions and are involved in agriculture. Primary education is free but secondary schools are in short supply, as are healthcare facilities outside of the major cities. A large population of people with AIDS and HIV has also led to a significant number of young orphans and there is little support for the disabled or chronically ill. We ask you to consider lending a hand and bringing a smile to a child's face in Ghana this summer.

The cost of the trip covers virtually all in-country experiences, including:

  • Housing and meals
  • Excursions and cultural activities
  • Coordination
  • Service project materials and coordination
  • Daily transportation
  • Airport pickup and drop-off
  • Dedicated group leader and experienced local guides
  • 24-hour emergency contact
  • T-shirt

*The fee does not cover airfare, visa expenses, or immunizations (if necessary). With the exception of meals during your free time on the arrival and departure days and any shopping you do, all trip costs are covered from the minute you arrive until the minute you return.

Housing & Meals

Akropong is extremely safe and peaceful. It is somewhat developed, yet has maintained its cultural traditions.

Our housing facility just outside Koforidua is a boutique hotel with various bedrooms, each with private bathrooms, a major common area with couches and coffee tables, and a large dining hall and kitchen where our groups eat together. It is set in a quiet part of the village.
